Tom Limoncelli is a 39 year old bi/poly activist and organizer from NJ. An IT professional and author, his 2003 book "Time Management for System Administrators" became an instant classic. He is an internationally recognized author and speaker, presenting keynotes and classes both within the IT community as well as at LGBT, poly, and bi leadership conferences. Tom Limoncelli's Activism Bio
Tom Limoncelli is a 37 year old bi activist and organizer in New Jersey.
Raised and educated in New Jersey, Tom started his activism as a student
at Drew University, went on to co-found
the organization now known as
BiZone.
He's volunteered with
Gay Activist Alliance
in Morris County (1989-1991), worked on the successful passage of New
Jersey's LGB anti-discrimination law (which added sexual orientation and
other matters to
New Jersey's Law
Against Discrimination, vice-president then president of the
New
Jersey Lesbian and Gay Coalition (1994-1996) and was active in
The 1993 March On Washington
and
Stonewall 25
events. He's been in
BiNet/USA
since 1992, including 4 years as Regional Organizer. He co-founded the
Tri-State Bisexual Conference which he co-chaired or advised in 1996, 1997,
1999, and 2000. Tom now spends a lot of time coordinating GLBTI activism
over the internet (email campaigns and web sites) for Howard Dean presidential campaign.
Tom has authored two books about computer system administration. Tom lives in New Jersey and commutes every day to his job at Google's NYC office.
AT&T's LEAGUE (Lesbian and Gay United Employees)
organization awarded him their 1995 LEAGUE Community Involvement Award(Political), and in 1997 the
New Jersey Lesbian and Gay Coalition awarded him their "Honor" life-time
achievement award for his activism.

Tom Limoncelli is a 37 year old bi activist and organizer in New Jersey.
Raised and educated in New Jersey, Tom started his activism when he was
a student at
Drew University where he
was active in (and for 2 years co-President of) the student LGB organization.
He facilitated a men's support group that was part of the
Gay
Activist Alliance in Morris County in 1989-1990. In 1991-2 he worked
on New Jersey's sucessful effort to amend the
New
Jersey's Law Against Discrimination), to add "sexual or affectional
orientation" for protection in housing, hiring, banking, and public accomodations.
He served as outreach co-chair and logistics coordinator. He co-created
BiNet/NJ (now known as BiZone) in 1991.
He was vice-president then president of the
New
Jersey Lesbian and Gay Coalition 1994-1996, which included such accomplishments
as the creation of a community center,
spinning off the
NJ Pride Parade
as a seperate organization, modifying the by-laws to be fully bi and transgender
inclusive, participation in
The 1993 March On Washington
and
Stonewall 25,
and other projects.
He has worked with
BiNet/USA
since 1992 including 4 years spent as the Regional Organizer from the Tri-State
region. He has edited the New Jersey section of the
Bisexual Resource Guide
for much of the 1990's. Tom spends much of
his time with the Tri-State Bisexual Conferences which he created/co-chaired
in 1996 (NYC, NY), was advisor to in 1997 (Hartford, CT), co-chair in 1999
(New Brunswick NJ), and on the planning committee of the highly successful
2000 (NYU Campus, NY) conference.
Through out all of this Tom has been active in electronic activism on
the Internet. Since 1987 he has used the Internet as an organizing tool.
He maintained information about
The 1993 March On Washington
and
Stonewall 25
events on the internet, and was one of a handful of people that since 1992
organized to keep the idea alive that there should be a Stonewall 25
celebration in NYC in 1994.

Practice of System and Network Administration" from

Tom Limoncelli took a break from activism to co-author a book on computer system and network administration which is now considered the top book on the subject and has lead to him being invited to teach workshops and speak at conferences internationally. He returned to activism through his involvement in BiZone and NJLGC. He spent 2.5 months volunteering at the Vermont HQ of the Howard Dean presidential campaign, and has since been involved volunteering with various election efforts to elect local liberal candidates as well as John Kerry. He's now coordinating the grass-roots involvement tools on www.NJLGC.org. He teaches workshops on bisexuality and polyamory in at conferences every chance he gets. Tom Limoncelli is a 37 year old bi activist and organizer in New
Jersey.
Raised and educated in New Jersey, Tom started his activism as
a student at Drew University (1987-1991) and went on to co-found the
organization now known as BiZone in 1991. He worked within the gay and
lesbian community to pass the New Jersey "gay rights" bill in 1991 and
was vice-president then president of the New Jersey Lesbian and Gay
Coalition (1994-1996). He worked with Brenda Howard to keep alive the
notion to have a march on the United Nations to remember the 25th
Anniversary of Stonewall (1994). He was active with BiNet/USA from
1992 until 2000, including 4 years as inluding 4 years as Regional
Organizer where he co-founded the Tri-State Bisexual Conference. He
co-chaired or advised the conference in 1996, 1997, 1999, and 2000.
The conference is now the yearly Transcending Boundaries conference.
Now Tom considers himself semi-retired from activism, though he
coordinates Internet-based activism for NJLGC and teaches leadership
and time-management skills at conferences. Outside of activism, Tom
