I was asked: > That is so great. Did you always know you were bi? Did you just have a > natural attraction to both sexes your whole life? Was it hard to come out? > I'm so glad my friends and family didn't make a big deal about it cause > frankly there are enough people out there that already do. I didn't use the word bi for a long time, and I flip-flopped for a while. As far back as 8th grade I read Penthouse Forum. Back then every issue had one guy-guy story... usually it was "guy gets drunk and sucks off his college roommate". I found that I would always jump to that story. Other stories involving men and women in group sex situations were also my favorite. In highschool there was a while where I called myself bisexual. Then straight. Then in college I called myself straight, then came out as gay, then straight, then gay, then straight. Then I realized that gay men didn't have nearly as much sex with women as I did, and straight men certainly didn't have sex with other men. So I settled into the word "bi". It wasn't very hard for me to come out because I was always with accepting friends. My family was pretty accepting, but my parents weren't very comfortable with it at first. They eventually realized that it was as normal and natural as anything else. Later I got involved in starting a "bisexual support and discussion group" in New Jersey, mostly so that I could meet other people like me. (People can email me if they want info about it... it still meets monthly, and now even has a quarterly dance and other events.) --tal Sun Sep 17 22:50:04 EDT 2000
